Making life worth living

Golf House, as a JAB Anstoetz subsidiary, is involved in areas that - far removed from the usual day-to-day business - make life worth living. One of the mainstays of the JAB Anstoetz foundations' commitment is the Matthias Anstoetz Foundation. The focus here is on training and helping young people to have better prospects for the future. By building shelters, schools and hospitals, the educational and life opportunities for children are improved.

The background:

Matthias Anstoetz Foundation You can only really enjoy success when others benefit from it, too. This is why Heinz Anstoetz established the Matthias Anstoetz Foundation, which he named after his late father, on the occasion of his 25th company anniversary in 1979.

Since then, the charitable foundation, which is now headed by Petra Anstoetz-Blome, has been supporting people in developing countries who are particularly disadvantaged by a serious hardship or disability. In awarding the grants, particular attention is paid to smaller projects that not only receive cash and non-cash benefits, but are also supported in their development through personal contact.

To date, the foundation's funds have been used to build schools and shelters, purchase tractors and means of transport, and equip hospitals, among other things, in order to help people in countries such as India and Brazil find their way into a future full of opportunities and self-determination

The main focus:
  • Construction of so-called hostels ("boarding schools")
  • Construction of primary and secondary schools
  • Improvement of school operation through the purchase of computers and buses
  • Construction of hospitals and expansion of medical services
  • Construction of small family houses
  • Spontaneous help in emergency situations
  • Start-up projects for Ms.

"The exclusive mission of the Foundation is to provide assistance to people in need of support and to appropriate institutions." Excerpt from the foundation's 1979 statutes, Heinz Anstoetz. In our support, we always make sure to help in a targeted manner. That is why we try to bundle our projects geographically. We concentrate on India, but are also involved in Guatemala, Brazil and the Philippines because projects there have convinced us.

A selection of projects

The foundation's work is based on the Jeevan Jyoti School in Varanasi, India. A large school complex has been built here: A school for the blind with boarding for about 200 visually impaired girls; a school for girls and boys with multiple disabilities; a general education day school with inclusion, which is currently attended by 30 blind children and 530 day children, exclusively girls.

Many projects are located in the Assam region of northern India. In the diocese of Tezpur, for example, we have supported the construction of several hostels, schools and a children's hospital. In addition, a very special project has succeeded here. A village with about 70 single-family houses for destitute large families was built.

Through the order "Queen of Apostles" based in Vienna, we were able to become active in the Philippines. Here we supported a large girls' home and thus gave young Ms. a safe place to live.

Every year, the Matthias Anstoetz Foundation receives a wide variety of requests. For the selection, it is important to us that a project fits regionally into our concept. We usually support several large projects at the same time. The funding is often spread over several years.
