Helping people - helping dogs!

Golf House, as a JAB Anstoetz subsidiary, is committed to areas that - far from the usual day-to-day business - make life worth living. The Sentana Foundation was set up by Ralph Anstoetz to promote animal welfare. The aim is to help needy and old animals, especially dogs, and offer them a new perspective. The aims of the foundation are clearly defined:

  • The support and accommodation of old, abandoned or leftover dogs.
  • The placement of animals in good hands.
  • The promotion of animal-assisted activities, such as visits to old people's homes, orphanages, social institutions, etc.
  • Placement and arrangements that can lead to therapeutic success.
  • The support of foundations and associations that are exclusively dedicated to animal welfare in its many forms.
  • The promotion, planning, construction, repair and maintenance of animal shelters and sanctuaries.
  • Financial support for the training of assistance and companion dogs.

The projects supported are diverse and have already achieved considerable success. For example, the "Give Bielefeld dogs a home" project has already been 100% financed by donations. The aim was to provide the dog shelter in Bielefeld, which has existed since 1976, with the funds for urgently needed renovations. Unfortunately, an immediate new building was out of reach, but many small steps along the way have already been implemented. A completely new dog house was built by the Sentana Foundation in order to build and operate species-appropriate accommodation for two dogs, as the existing facilities no longer fulfilled this purpose adequately.

The most pressing issues at the moment are the flushing basins at the Bielefeld animal shelter and the appeal to support the TierTisch Bielefeld association. The issue of financially assisting pet owners who are not in a financial position to keep and feed their animals properly and helping out with pet food is a particularly burning issue for TierTisch. Animals are often the last and only support that people have left in an emergency - the project "No animal should starve in Bielefeld" is fighting to preserve this symbiosis.

Supporting the animal shelter in Bielefeld is also one of the Sentana Foundation's most topical issues. Urgently needed renovation work has been postponed time and again, and now leaking drains, material cracks and chipped enamel make it urgently necessary to replace the over 30-year-old sinks in the much-used dog kitchen. The renovation will cost around € 5,000, including all accessories.
