Cobra Golf is one of the leading manufacturers of golf equipment, developing high-quality products for golfers of all skill levels. The company, based in Carlsbad, California, was founded in 1973 by Tom Crow. Crow developed one of the first utility clubs - the well-known Baffler - long before such clubs were played in golf. This innovation and market leadership has continued to this day and is reflected in innovative products such as the new ZL and the S2 (driver), as well as the Baffler Rail Hybrid.
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Cobra Golf was the leading golf manufacturer in several product categories.

Cobra was the first golf brand to design woods and irons with graphite shafts. The company also developed Autoclay technology, which significantly strengthened the graphite shaft thanks to a special compression spring. in 1991, an Australian golf professional who was among the best in the world in the 1980s and 1990s acquired a stake in Cobra Golf and helped Tom Crow develop the first collection of forged iron clubs for Cobra Golf. The following year, Cobra launched its first oversize irons, which quickly became a category of their own in the golf market. In addition, the golf brand continued to expand its presence in the Women's and Seniors segments.

in 1996, American Brands, Inc, the parent company of the Acushnet Company golf group, acquired Cobra Golf and integrated the company into the group alongside the Titleist, FootJoy and Pinnacle golf brands. The merger expanded Cobra Golf's strong position in the golf segment.

Golf clubs from Cobra Golf are characterized by trend-setting technologies and design. Since its foundation, the golf brand has achieved great success with numerous products, including several new editions of the Baffler. Over the years, Cobra Golf achieved a strong brand presence on the golf tour. As early as the 1990s, the golf brand equipped many of the world's best golf professionals with clubs. Numerous top players on the PGA Tour, the most important golf tour in the USA, play with Cobra equipment. Most recently, golf stars such as Ian Poulter, Camilo Villegas and J.B. Holmes secured victories on the PGA Tour with clubs from Cobra Golf.

in 2010, sports lifestyle company PUMA acquired the Cobra Golf brand and incorporated it into its group under the name COBRA PUMA GOLF. The merger enables COBRA PUMA GOLF to offer its customers a comprehensive range of golf products, including shoes, textiles, accessories and golf clubs. COBRA PUMA GOLF is a division of PUMA North America.
In 2011, COBRA PUMA GOLF launched a product line under the motto "Fun at the Game." Innovative products include the "Trusty Rusty Wedge," with special rusty surfaces for greater feel, control and swing, and the ZL Encore Driver played by Ian Poulter, the first driver available in two finishes. We also added superstars Lexi Thompson and Rickie Fowler to the lineup. At the age of just 16, Lexi Thompson made golf history in September by becoming the youngest professional on an LPGA/PGA Tour to win the Navistar LPGA Classic title.
