The story of the highly successful golf brand begins with the founding of WILSON SPORTING GOODS CO in an Illinois slaughterhouse by Thomas E. Wilson.

1922
Gene Sarazen signs a contract with WILSON, the beginning of a 75-year, close, highly productive relationship - the longest contract period ever achieved in sports. Over the years, other golfing greats join the ranks: Sam Snead, Walter Hagen, Arnold Palmer, Nick Faldo, Payne Stewart, John Daly and Vijay Singh, to name a few. All of them contribute their distinctive golfing experience to the development and production of modern golf clubs.

1937
The legendary Sam Snead, perhaps the best player of all time, becomes a contract player at WILSON STAFF, "Slammin' Sammy" wins 5 tournaments of his total of 81 PGA Tour titles in his very first year with WILSON golf clubs, which also includes 3 PGA Championships, 3 Masters and an Open title.

1954
WILSON ushers in the era of modern power golf with the famous "long ball" that leaves the club 40% faster than it hits the ball.

1989
AMER GROUP Ltd. of Helsinki acquires WILSON on its way to becoming the largest sporting goods manufacturer in the world.

2001
WILSON STAFF Deep Red golf clubs with Fat Shaft technology with its superior torsional stiffness change what golfers expect from a modern shaft.

2005
The WILSON STAFF crest, a sign of superior playing characteristics and the highest precision in production, is revised after having been featured on the legendary Dyna-Powered irons in 1960.
